Abstract

To eliminate the disadvantages of time wastage on restarting procedure with conventional starter circuits, whilst accepting the advantage of engine shut-down where traffic flow congestion requires standing for longer than 5-10 secs. an additional circuit is introduced to the existing ignition wiring. By the use of a series of relays to break and remake the main circuit as required and blocking diodes to protect against unwanted stray currents, this new circuit is activated either by an additional push control or by a contact made by full depression of the clutch pedal. Indicators can be incorporated to show the running condition of the engine.
