Abstract

The manually operated mechanism is designed to grip modular or encapsulated items having orthodox connection lugs intended for soldering to printed circuit boards such that they may be accurately inserted or extracted from the connection slots in the boards. The module is attached to the jaws of a clamp mounted on an arm which moves through 90 deg. such that it is horizontal when in the position for mating with the board. In this position the whole of the arm mechanism is lowered, pushing the module lugs through the board holes and into a solder bath. The solder automatically runs up the lugs to form the electrical joint.
