Abstract

The bearing sleeve is embedded into the plastic and has a screw thread over its whole length for ensuring good contact with the plastic. This sleeve accommodates the drive shaft and acts as a bearing for it. The free end of the sleeve with screw thread is used for clamping on the vehicle frame. The sleeve is held in the plastics housing and is sealed with the ring against the plastics whilst it is prevented from rotation by the slot in the screw thread. The sealing ring is locked effectively on the sleeve by punching. This method simplifies the production of the drive unit.
