Abstract

A slab (1) of insulating material has a number of recesses (2, 3, 9) in its top surface holding the dishes of food. The central recess (9) is used for hot storage and has a metal ring (5), containing a heat retaining liquid, fitting into a rebate (4). The hot dish (7) sits on the bottom of the recess over the ring, and is sealed in by a tight fitting insulating cover (8). The peripheral recesses are used to hold refrigerated foods. Each tray is stacked in an insulated container which has a close fitting lid. Side pockets hold a refrigerating substance and air circulation passages are provided.
