Abstract

The motor produces alternating rotary movements at high frequency and torque. The linear movement of the piston is converted to a rotary one in a very short space, typically by a mechanism in the form of a nut with planetary rollers, or recirculatory balls. Means can be provided to absorb the alternating axial efforts caused by the piston movement under the action of the hydraulic fluid, between two balancing chambers. Oil flow can be regulated by a signal from a position detector on the end of the shaft, thus regulating speed of piston displacement, typically by a servo valve.
