Abstract

Two blood samples, in one of which the red corpuscles have been haemolyzed, while in the other they have been made spherical, are placed in the path of a light beam emanating from a convergent optical system supplied by a laser so as to obtain, in the focal plane of the system, at least two photosensitive zones receiving the light beams diffracted by the particles. The agles in radians formed between the diffracted beams and the original one are determined by formulae taking into account the wavelength of the light used and the mean diameters of the particles to be analysed. The light received by the zones is transformed into electrical signals used in units indicating the analysis results.
