Abstract

The spindle spans horizontally between two vertical discs (3) which are pressed to form the supports. A rectangular flap is cut from the disc to form an inverted L-shaped cantilever arm apertured on the vertical leg to locate the spindle and a triangular flat (9) is cut underneath to form a cantilever blade spring of inverted J-section, the curved free end (11) of which bears on the spindle. The spindle passes horizontally through the apertured leg and through the aperture formed by pressing and curving the lower flap (9). Various alternative designs are shown including opposed cantilevering S-shaped springs gripping the spindle.
