Abstract

The heater has three cylindrical sections containing water. The cylindrical shape enables them to withstand significant pressure. Each cylinder has two openings which communicate with similar openings in the adjacent cylinder so that water can circulate freely throughout the three. The centre cylinder has an opening closed by a flange through which pass the cold feed, the hot water flow, the heating element or coil, the thermostat and the limit switch. The three cylinders are surrounded by a rectangular jacket containing insulation. This arrangement gives a heater which is longer than it is deep so that it can be conveniently mounted on a wall and yet has the resistance to pressure of a cylinder.
