Abstract

An adjustable mounting for the torsion rod is described with the end of the torsion rod milled with longitudinal splines. These match up with splines inside a special sleeve, which is held in the end of the mounting arm. The pitch of the splines allows a fine torsion adjustment with the minimum angle being equal to one spline. The sleeve itself is polygonal and is held in a polygonal hole so that a coarse adjustment is obtained, with the minimum coarse adjustment equal to the angle of one side. Between the two adjustments the torsion rod is rapidly and easily set to the required setting.
