[Class 45] [Also in Group XXVIII] An adjustable, tie-rod end connection whereby the tension of the rod may be adjusted, comprises an end member 16 engaging in the hollow tie-rod end 10 and having a raised key portion, or portions, 17 engaging in a slot, or slots, 12 in the tie-rod, the rod having a screw threaded end 11 and the keys having a screw thread of opposite hand and a sleeve 18 formed with two screw threads of opposite hand so that rotation of the sleeve causes relative displacement of the tie-rod and tie-rod end. The sleeve may be slit longitudinally and have projecting ears connected by a bolt whereby the sleeve may be clamped in adjusted position. The screw threads 11, 17 may be of different pitch so that the cross-over points of the threads in the sleeve lie in a helical path.
