Abstract

Hinge forming a pivoting joint between two parts has an opening angle which can be set to remain locked. After releasing, closing can be done freely. The hinge is suitable for folding screens, trestles and similar. Pressing one central button (26) allows another (20) to disengage two short pins (22). Under pressure of a spring (19), a stop disc (14) rotates to obstruct the movement of the pins (22). An axial spring (17) holds these against the stop disc (14). Opening out the angle locates the pins in a new pair of seatings (13) in a housing (12) which forms one hinge arm (10). The other (10') arm is integral with an intermediate ring (11) which acts as a locator.
