Abstract
Parabolic sectioned leaf springs, used for weight saving, instead of the commonly used trapezoidal type, have the disadvantage of the absence or scarcity of friction internally and poor shock absorbing qualities which leads to separate shock absorbers being needed. The advantages of the two types of springs are combined. The inner spring ends are connected to an equalising link held in a U section housing. The axle box of each axle is connected to a bogie frame housing by rods. Alternate axles are parabolically and trapezoidally sprung.
