Abstract

A vacuum valve, capable of manual operation, comprises a valve housing with apertures for the inlet and outlet of gas. Inside the valve housing is a valve closure body connected by means of a lifting rod, and which works in conjunction with one of the apertures in order to achieve a gastight closure. A cam drive is provided to operate the lifting rod, of which the driving part is connected with a hand-operated component, and of which the engagement part is connected with the lifting rod. The hand-operated component (16) comprises a hollow body and the engagement part (15) is fitted inside it. The driving part (14) and the engagement part (15) have head surfaces for the cam drive, which work together in order to achieve a lifting movement of the engagement part when the driving component rotates.
