Abstract

The rotating valve is mounted on a shaft (1) on which is fixed, on it upper extension, a spur gear (3). Meshing with this is a rotating lever (5), pivoted at one end and meshing with the shaft spur gear at the other, and with a drive rod (7) connected to it between these two points. The drive rod is activated by the movement of an air operated sealed diaphragm (11). Diaphragm operation can be single action air pressure with spring return, or double action air pressure. The periphery of the diaphragm is clamped between the operating mechanism body and a cover (12) which contains the air inlet or return spring.
