Abstract

A device for the observation of a graticule forming a divided scale in an optical instrument, using a transparent optical element with a concave spherical surface with a partly reflecting coated surface, and a part of a sphere, concentric with this surface and carrying the graticule. The radius of curvature of the sphere carrying the graticule is about half that of the concave surface. The eye is located approximately at their common centre of curvature.
