Abstract
A three-axis inertial platform (24) is in each aircraft (23) and a reference three-axis inertial platform (14), common to all aircraft is on the ship (11). The associated devices of the reference platform (14) sense deviation in attitude and motion of the ship (11) so as to maintain the platform (14) horizontal and set along a selected azimuth, usually North. A line of sight (25) projected onto the aircraft windscreen (91) and a sighting point of the aircraft head-up instrument display indicate deviation in alignment of the aircraft platform (24). The aircraft pilot can correct, taking into account the speed of the ship, any misalignment before take-off.
