Abstract

Verification that a prod., and partic. a food prod., has been preserved below a given limiting temp. is assured by moulding the prod. into a special indicating shape; this becomes deformed if the temp. rises too high and it can not return to its original shape whatever the subsequent temp. changes. Another form of indicator is in the form of a seal; this is made from body whch is solid below below -18 degrees C and liq. above this temp. It can be made from a mixt. of water and glycol and is frozen in a mould at the same time as the prod. It is then introduced into a plastic pocket with the prod. to be verified so that it can be seen from the outside of the package. If the temp. should rise too high the seal is irreversibly deformed and cannot be re-modelled. Method of verification is easy.
