Abstract

Making use of wave's movement, a difference of level is established between two tanks, one of which has a set of valves opening inwards when the wave is progressing towards its crest while the other has a set of valves opening outwards when the wave descends towards its trough. The valves at the lowest water level have horizontal walls preventing the water from keeping open the valves and going into the tank while the wave is rising. The difference of level between both tanks may be used to drive a turbine or to perform any other work.
