Abstract

Cushion of dressings with unfrayed edges impenetrable by X-rays during stomach operations comprises many layers of absorbent tissue connected with each other by their edges with an open mesh. The layers are connected to each other along >=1 web between the edges of the cushion by >=1 thread connected with a number of layers. The cut edges of the cushion are sealed in an unfrayed condition by a non-poisonous, flexible, thermoplastic sealing agent. A considerable part of the sealing agent on >=1 edge of the cushion comprises a material, pref. barium sulphate, which is impenetrable by X-rays.
