Abstract

Hot compressed gas from a compressor passes to an economiser unit where it is cooled and most of the moisture extracted before passing direct to an absorption type dryer before use. Alternatively the dry gas is reheated in the economiser and the hot dry gas used to regenerate the dryer. Hot humid gas from the dryer during regeneration is cooled and the moisture extracted before passing to a second dryer before use. Heat of compression of the gas is recovered and used to regenerate absorption dryers.
