Abstract
If the engine power of a vehicle which is driven by one or more hydraulic converters or transmissions is cut by the normal removal of the foot from the accelerator pedal, the braking force which is caused by the action of the converter wheels is so large that it can endanger the stability of the vehicle. This condition is avoided by arranging pre-set pressure control valves between the high and low pressure fluid feed and return lines to and from the converter. In the event of an emergency the full effect of the converter braking force is available to the road wheels.
