Abstract

Alpinists leggings or over-boots sheath the lower leg (1) and foot uppers (2), affixing to the latter using a strap tensioned endless cord (6) which lodges in the foot peripheral groove between sole and upper. The legging foot (2) is open at the base, these lower edges being hemmed (4) to contain the cord loop: the hem discontinuing and the cord emerging pref. at three locations; the toe and either side of the arch. The cord is fixed to affixing a hook (14) at the arch of the foot and to a transverse under-sole strap (8) at the latter. Strap fastening (10, 11) rapidly tensions the cord to grip the shoe.
