Abstract
884,361. Heel protectors. AMOS, S. E., [trading as RENSONS]. March 3, 1958 [March 6, 1957], No. 7489/57. Class 17(2) A heel protector to be worn over a sock in a boot is retained on the foot by two straps 19, 16, one extending across the ankle and the other across the instep, and is smooth on the outside but of such a nature on its inside that it does not readily slip relatively to the sock. The device may comprise three portions 11, 12, 13 sewn together, and strap 19 may be provided with a slidable buckle 20 and a hook 21 to engage in eye 22. Alternatively the protector may be formed by joining a sole portion 30 and a single upper portion 31, the latter being split and seamed, 34, to provide a better fit, and reinforced by piece 35. The protector may be formed of calfskin or goatskin lining leather. Specification 792,673 is referred to.
