Abstract

Resonance over a range of frequencies is dependent on the state of impedance or admittance of the parallelpiped shaped piezo-electric block, frequency of operation rising through the low inductance to short circuit, to capacitative, to open circuit, to high inductive states. Four electrodes are utilised, the practical shape of which would be in the form of a disc having, on one face, centre and annular electrodes and a single disc electrode on the other face. The electrodes (2) and (3) provide excitation of the quartz, lithium niobate or tantalate, and electrodes (4) and (5) the resonance regulation by means of reactance variation.
