Abstract

A metallic film (e.g. aluminium) has laminated to one face a fire synthetic fibre fabric (e.g. of drawn polyester fibres) which constitutes the outer face of the packaging material. A synthetic layer of e.g. a similar synthetic fibre fabric or a plastic film (e.g. polyester) in pref. laminated to the other face, and this synthetic layer may be coated with a plastic coating (e.g. polypropylene) which pref. constitutes the inner face of the packaging material. The packaging material is used for packaging foods in hermetically sealed packages. The material is strong flexible, and does not form micro-fissures when deformed, thereby maintaining the package completely air tight.
