Abstract

Nozzles or hollow tips of plastic material integrally moulded on to another component with a compatible surface where the tip is injected moulded via a lateral gate into a cavity incorporating the end of the other component. Used esp. for moulding an open-ended probe tip on to a flexible hose, e.g. for passing medical infusions. Use of a lateral gate avoids need for post finishing operations to remove a coaxial sprue and/or the buff sharp corners generated by a conventional deflashing cutter.
