Abstract

Improved induction ammeter having a fixed permanent magnet with two pole pieces, and fitted at the back of a housing fabricated from non-magnetic material, has also a moving permanent magnet which carries an indicating needle. The housing has means of fixing onto a current carrying conductor such that the axis of the conductor and the pole pieces of the fixed permanent magnet form a right angle. In addition the ammeter has a magnetic core having two pole pieces arranged in proximity to the moving magnet in a position diametrically opposite to the pole pieces of the fixed magnet. On the magnetic core is a winding whose two ends are connected to connection plugs mounted on the housing.
