Abstract

The device consists of a circular rotating element mounted in a base plate, with suitable means of driving it. On top of the rotating piece is fixed a former of the shape required for the curves. The end of the metal strip is held against the former by a cam device located in one of several possible locations, depending on the thickness of the metal. If the metal is excessively thick, it can be gripped by a screw in a tapped hole. A handle at the top of the cam is used to wedge the metal. The rotating piece is turned and the metal strip is pressed against the former by a stationary roller. The strip is released by freeing the cam by the handle.
