Abstract

Toe and foot guard for ice skate shoes is of eg. plastic or rubber and envelopes lateral feet edges from instep forward; the forward end being enlarged to form a toe cap which prevents shoe wear and foot injury. The guard is horseshoe shaped in plan, the open end facing into the shoe in all cases and the guard in the toe area being elongated, thus the guard envelopes external and internal lateral shoe edges and toe whilst returning over soles and uppers. A lower transverse strap (19, 16) fastens the guard to the shoe under the instep and the frontal underside is slotted (17) with hinging portal catches (20) which fasten around the front post support the blade of the skate.
