Abstract

The circuit consists of a battery (B) with voltage not less than 80 Volts, to which are connected various loads (U1 to U12) and fuses (F1 to F12). Each fuse, typically (F1), is connected to the negative terminal of the battery and in series with diode (D1) and resistor (R1). A zenor diode (Dz) is connected to a common point of all the fused circuits and to the negative terminal of the battery. A circuit (1) common to all the fused circuits can detect a faulty fuse as follows. When a fuse, typically (F1), is open-circuited, a circuit is made from the positive terminal of the battery through load (U1), diode (D1), resistor (R1) and Zenor diode (Dz) to the negative terminal of the battery. The transistor (Q) conducts and saturates to supply diode (DS) which lights up then giving an indication of the fault. Transistor (Q) can also excite relay (AL) and contacts (01, 02, 03) are then closed and supply (V) which can be a remotely located alarm or a light.
