Abstract

A conventional vehicle safety belt has an upper end attached to a plate bolted to the vehicle body. The housing which receives the buckle on the end of a second length of belt, when the belt is not being worn, is generally in the form of a flattened tube with an extension on an upper end, this extension having an opening to allow it to be mounted on the bolt attaching the first length of belt to the body. This housing may pivot about the bolt and has a window in one face which receives the buckle. The first length of belt passes through the housing and there is a hood covering the bolt and upper end of the housing.
