Abstract

The step for a lorry or trailer is a hollow metal casting with a 'V' shaped cut out (8) through one face. Through this project two right angle section flanges (4, 5) which slope at the same angle as the cut out, and which are attached to the vehicle. Above this is a top hat shaped member (6). This is an aluminium casting and has a hollow part, with the cut out in one face. The two sloping angle pieces are mounted on a support member forming part of the vehicle chassis as known.
