Abstract

Split mould for making large panels where each half is supported face up to be lined with skin material such as resin impregnated glass fibre matting etc. the base mould is loaded with prefabricated core blocks or a foam forming mixture, and the cover mould is pivotted through 180 degrees to close upon the base mould. Used for mfr. of construction panels, plain or incorporating door or window openings, frames. etc. Permits simultaneous lay-up of the upper and lower cover layers and any inserts for the moulding and prompt closure of the mould to provide controlled conditions for development/bonding of the core and covers.
