Abstract

The process improves the adherence of pins or metallic matrices to a dental amalgam, whether they are placed in the nerve channels or body of the tooth. The face in contact with the amalgam is covered with a thin coating of silver, typically electrolytically deposited, with a thickness of approximately 6 microns. The permanent total or partial matrix used for moulding the amalgam and forming part of it can have its surface in contact with the latter covered by a thin coating of fine metal.
