Abstract

End cover for renewable filter element of annular cross-section, of the type which is clamped between two end covers for inward radial flow of fluid to be filtered. The element is removably secured to the end cover by resilient members integral with the cover and extending into the bore of the element to grip it by radially outward spring action. The members are pref. springy arms spaced on a pitch circle and having outward-facing claws, so that an element is automatically centred on the cover as it is pushed on to the arms and is then retained by the claws engaging the bore and pulling the element towards the cover. It is used as end cover for cartridge type air filter partic. for internal combustion engines, air compressors etc.
