Abstract

Liq. such as paints, perfumes, medicaments etc. stored in a recipient, is projected in the form of a mist or foam from a diffuser after passing through an outlet tube. The body of the valve is fixed in an inverted, metallic cup which forms part of the recipient; this stores the liq. together with the propellant under pressure. The free passage of the gaseous phase through the conduit is impeded, and leaks are avoided when the aerosol is not in use, by making use of the surface tension properties of the liq. to close the conduit.
