Abstract

The support frame has vertical members supporting struts at approximately 6 deg. from vertical. The glass sheets lean against these struts and are braced in place by bars locked at top and bottom. The top fixing is by means of a saddle over a rod, with a pin through both. The bottom fixing uses a lip inside the foot of the stand passing between two studs fixed to the bottom of the bar. The studs are positioned so that the bar can slide along the lip when in a vertical position. When tilted the studs are forced against the lip, elastically deforming one or other of the components, thus locking the bar rigidly in position.
