Abstract

The machine drops grains at intervals along a broad path. A series of holes in the reservoir allow the grains to escape, but when the reservoir is tilted so that these grains are at the bottom the holes are covered by an obturator. When the reservoir is tilted back so that the holes are at the top, a single grain falls throught each hole onto a corrugated plate which maintains their spacing. The grains fall off the end of the plate into funnels leading into long tubes which act as seed drills.
