Abstract

The mobile blade of the switch is a shallow 'V' shape and is gripped laterally at the middle by a stirrup shaped piece that also acts as an electrical contact for the blade. The snap action toggle acts on either side of the V and is so mechanically arranged that it applies maximum pressure to fixed contact through the mobile blade. In this way the current rating of the contacts may be increased. The switch is used as a two-way switch which is off when the switch lever is in its central position.
