Abstract

The apparatus consists of a flexible pipe with an injection unit attached to one end. The other end is joined to the outlet of a heating coil which is heated by means of a burner using liquified gas. The inlet of the heating coil is connected to a simple pump which controls the flow of a water tank which acts as a reservoir. The injection unit is inserted into the drain as far as the ice blockage. Hot water is then pumped through it until the ice melts.
