Abstract

The emulsifier is produced from alkanes fermented by yeasts by (1) prepg. a mixt. contg. a yeast in proportions 0.1 pt. soda, 4 pts. water and 1 pt. yeast where the yeast has lipids content 5% pref. 2% (2) reacting by aq. basic hydrolysis under pressure at 110-175 degrees C (125-135 degrees C), (3) neutralising, the prod. with sulphuric acid or pref. HCl at pH 7.5-6.5 pref. 7, recovering the liq. and adding to it foam stabilisers and bactericides before sepg. 70-100 g of ferrous sulphate heptahydrate is added as foam stabiliser per litre of prod. which as 3-8% in water has an expansion ratio of 9 and does not separate from water after >30 min after application.
