Abstract
The plastic sheath completely encloses the submerged part of the hull to a level above the waterline. Fresh water is pumped into the space between the hull and the plastic thus displacing the seawater. The presence of fresh water reduces the rate of marine growth, and the rate of electrolytic corrosion on steel hulls. The sheath is placed on position by passing from one side of the boat, under the keel, and then up the other side of the hull. The fresh water is pumped through a tube extending into the bottom of the space formed.
