Abstract

The engine fuel pump is supplied from either of two fuel tanks through an electromagnetic three-way valve. Excess fuel from the pump is returned to either tank through another three way valve. The valve motors are energised by a circuit containing a switch controlled by a manual lever. The flow valve is operated immediately by the controls but the return valve is operated through an adjustable delay timer. This ensures that fuel already in the pipes is returned to the correct tank.
