Abstract
The system contains a source of heat, fossile or nuclear fuelled, and a main steam raising plant feeding at least one steam turbine esp. HP and LP turbines, and a heat store or accumulator connected in a circuit filled with auxiliary working fluid and containing a number of cascaded heat exchangers by means of which with low demand fluctuations heat is extracted from the main steam circuit stored in the accumulator and fed back into the steam circuit to meet high demand fluctuations. This system of smooothing enables the heat source esp. a nuclear reactor, to operate more efficiently.
