A flexible, elastic tube comprises an inner helical wire and an external sheath; the sheath comprises an Al foil, reinforcing filaments outside the foil, and inner and outer plastics layers; the inner plastics layer is bonded to a plastics surround around the wire. Prefd. materials for the inner and outer plastic layers and for the surround to the helical wire are PVC; and for the reinforcing filaments glass fibre.
