Abstract

Production of a photographic image in known manner by image-wise exposure of a photographic recording material consisting of a substrate layer on which at least a layer containing a photo-sensitive metal salt is applied, and by bringing the exposed material into contact with an alkaline working solution to produce a first metal image, then producing a second image and bleaching out and fixing the metal image and unused photo-sensitive metal salt by means of (a) cobalt (III) - complex and and (b) a solvent for the photo-sensitive metal salt, incorporating the novel feature whereby the alkaline working solution is brought into contact with the exposed recorded material in the presence of the cobalt (III) - complex and the solvent for the photo-sensitive metal salt.
