Abstract

Mfr. of bottle top caps or covers made from a length of dilated heat shrinkable tubing fitted with one end cap and generally oversize prior to fitting and subsequent shrinkage is as described in the parent patent. Present addn. describes provision of the heat shrinkable sleeving with a prefabricated end cap which is itself not shrinkable and which is sized to fit the mouth of the bottle. The properly sized cap assists in locating the cover exactly on the bottle neck and does not subsequently distort at the cap end. The appearance is more regular and pleasing, surface markings or patterns on the cap are preserved, and engagement with ancillary packaging is simplified.
