Abstract

Treatment consists of surrounding the food prods. with a medium capable of picking up the heat radiated from a source and in exposing the prods. to the radiations from this source. The medium is an aq. soln. contg. long wave receptive additives with a low refractive power; this transfers the energy it absorbs to the prods. in the form of luminous energy and transforms this into chemical energy. The source consists of several lasers or masers with wavelengths adapted to the absorption spectra of the prods. or solns. treated thermally. The lasers can be of the ruby type and are used in apirs; one can have a wave-length of 6929 A and the other a wave-length of 6943 A.
