Abstract

A model of a pattern required on the surface of mould cavity is produced on a flat (Zn) plate and inked. The ink pattern is then collected by a flexible adhesive film which can be intimately draped against the contours or steps of a mould cavity pretreated with a photosentive coating to deposit an in-situ shade pattern for a conventional photohardening and etching process. The relatively high flexibility of certain adhesive films permits pattern transfers on to basic cavity profiles too abrupt to be followed by conventional self supporting photosensitive films without creasing or cracking.
