Abstract

An injection moulding head includes a barrel having a central bore in which is located a piston and which connects at one end via a connecting duct with a nozzle and pref. three outer bores which are pref. equiangularly spaced and which connect at their outlet ends (pref. via. one-way values) with the connecting duct. Granular plastic fed to the inlet ends of the outer bores is fed along the outer bores and compressed by feed screws in the outer bores, and the plastic is heated by heater bars located in the barrel wall between the outer bores so that the plastic passing from the outlet end of the outer bores to the nozzle is fully melted. Pref the outer surface of the barrel is lagged.
